 About Marny Heit:

Marny Heit has dedicated her practice to the defense of DUI and traffic-related offenses in Georgia since 2001.   She is a member of the Georgia Defense of Drinking Drivers Group, the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the DeKalb County Bar Association, the Atlanta Bar Association, and the Cobb County Bar Association.  She is a graduate of the Emory University School of Law, and completed her undergraduate degree at Syracuse University.  While attending Emory, Marny interned at the DeKalb County Public Defender's Office, the Capital Defender's of the New York Legal Aid Society, and the Federal Defender in Atlanta, Georgia.

Marny has spoken at and chaired various legal seminars, including ICLE: Handling Administrative License Suspensions and Revocations (2002, 2003, 2006, 2007), ICLE GACDL Winter Seminar (2004) with the topic of DUI and License Suspensions, and DUI Case Preparation and Courtroom Procedure at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center in Forsyth, Georgia (2004-2008).

 Since 2001, Marny has handled hundreds of DUI cases, and has conducted dozens of jury and bench trials in various Georgia courts.  She has also handled various appeals in the Georgia Court of Appeals and Georgia Supreme Court.
